Monday Morning Drawing Class

"Silver and Persimmons"
14" x 12" Pastel

Susan brought some beautiful Persimmons and Bob brought the silver pitcher.  There could be lots more hours spent on this piece. We all agreed to work on silver next time to refresh ourselves on how to approach it in pastel. We are all reluctant to push our darks enough. I did after Bob gave us guidance.

Mary, your pastel work always looks flawless to me. This is no exception.

Hi Mary, Isn't it funny how hard it is to push the dark values? Perhaps its because the light values can be so lovely. I do so enjoy looking at your work from Bob's glasses. And, I was admiring your plein aire work too!

You are really good with pastels--I've never tried reflective surfaces but I always find them interesting.
